Public Health (PHM561/PM412n/PM501n/PM501)
This course aims at introducing the student to the bases and principles of public health; different measures of disease burden and health status. Different diseases of international public health significance will be reviewed, with a focus on epidemiologic research and methods used to describe and analyze disease determinants. The course also aims at exposing students to different interventions (prevention and control strategies) that are used to reduce the burden of both communicable and non-communicable diseases
